City into two parts, the west of the river called Puxi which is in the

| Shanghai has a population of 18.7 million, including 2 million are floating
population. |

| CLIMATE |
|
Shanghai has four distinct seasons, the average temperature is about
18°C. The best season to visit Shanghai is Autumn (September to November)
and Spring (April to June). Shanghai’s winter can be unbearable cold with
the temperature vary from -5°C to +5°C. Summer can be very hot and humid
with the temperature up to 40°C.

| The official language of China is Mandarin, apart from that people speaks
their local dialect called Shanghainese. English is not widely spoken
in Shanghai, however there are gradually more people who can speaks English
at the service and financial district areas. |

| The local currency is Renminbi (RMB) also known as Yuan. |

| The standard electrical voltage in Shanghai is 220 Volts AC, 50HZ, so

| AIRPORT INFORMATION |
|
Shanghai International Airport (Pudong) is located 30km to the east
of the City.
Shanghai Domestic Airport (Hongqiao) is located 13km to the west of the
City.
Pudong International Airport is about 40km away from Hongqiao Domestic
Airport which indicated the transition time between these two airports
at least 2 hours. Transportation
from Hong Kong International Airport:-
a) Express Train:
The Maglev is China’s futuristic magnetic levitation train which is
the fastest ride with a blazing speed of 430 kilometres an hour. Train
runs every 15 minutes from 7am to 9pm. The journey takes only eight
minutes to the Longyang Road Metro Station. To reach the main City Center,
passenger has to transfer to another subway line to Puxi which takes
approximately half an hour.
b) Taxi:
A Taxi from Pudong International Airport to City Center takes about
an hour.
Hongquiao Domestic Airport to City Center takes about 30 ~ 45 minutes
depending on the traffic.
The Cost from Pudong International Airport to City Center is estimated
as RMB 180
The Cost from Hongquiao Domestic Airport to City Center is estimated
as RMB 80
