GEOGRAPHY
Beijing has a whole area of 16,808 square kilometers, stretching 160 kilometers from East to West and over 180 kilometers from north to south. Beijing is located in the Southern part of North China plain with Shanxi and Inner Mongolian plateaus to the Bohai Sea the east. Beijing is also the Capital of the People’s Republic of China.

POPULATION
Population in Beijing is about 15 million.
 
CLIMATE
Beijing has a continental type of Climate. January is the coldest month with the temperature down to -4C degrees while July is the warmest with the temperature up to 26C degrees. The best season to visit Beijing is May, September and October.

LANGUAGE
The official language of China is Mandarin. People in Beijing are merely speaking in Mandarin, sometimes it can be difficult to communicate with the people locally. Therefore, it is strongly recommended foreign visitors to learn some simple phrase of mandarin before travelling to Beijing.
 
CURRENCY
The local currency is Renminbi (RMB) also known as Yuan.
 
ELECTRICITY
The standard electrical voltage in Beijing is 220 Volts AC, 50HZ, so a transformer will be needed to operate 110-volt appliances.
 
ENTRY REGULATION
Visitors must possess a passport with at least 6 months of validity; visa is required for most of the nationalities.

AIRPORT INFORMATION

Beijing International Airport called Capital International Airport which is located in the Northeast part of Beijing with approximately 25.35km from the City Centre.

The cost of Transportation from Capital International Airport to City Centre:-

Transportation from Hong Kong International Airport:-
a) Bus:
There is a regular shuttle service runs once every 30 minutes, travelling time between 30 minutes to 1 hour. The estimated cost is CNY 16 per person.

b) Taxi:
Taxi charges based according to the meters and the estimated cost is CNY 130. Experienced travellers can usually bargain with the driver for a lower price, travelling time is between 25 to 35 minutes.
